Rug Doctor

Rug Doctor carpet cleaner solution tank empties very quickly and carpets feel soapy or sticky after drying.

Possible Causes
Incorrect solution mix ratio, Stuck-open solution valve, User holding trigger continuously, Oversized or damaged spray jets
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting the solution system.
- 1. Verify mix ratio: Follow Rug Doctor guidelines for solution dilution. Over-concentrated solution can leave residue.
- 2. Check valve operation: Ensure the solution control valve closes fully when the trigger is released. Adjust or replace if it leaks.
- 3. Inspect spray jets: Remove and inspect the spray nozzles. If holes are enlarged or damaged, replace the jets.
- 4. Adjust usage: Use shorter spray bursts and more vacuum-only passes to reduce solution usage.
Note: After correcting the issue, rinse carpets with clean water and extract to remove excess detergent.
