Possible Causes

Airlock in solution line, Blocked spray nozzles, Clogged internal solution filter, Partially seized solution pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing tanks or nozzles.

  • Bleed air from system: Fill the clean water tank fully and ensure the cap is tight. Refit the tank, then plug in and run the pump while holding the trigger for 30–60 seconds to purge air (if the manual allows running without moving).
  • Clean spray nozzles: Remove the front nozzle assembly or individual jets (if removable). Soak them in warm water and gently clear any blockages with a soft brush or toothpick. Do not enlarge the holes.
  • Check internal filter: Some Russell Hobbs models have a small inline filter in the solution hose. Access the hose and look for a small plastic filter housing; open and rinse the mesh.
  • If buzzing continues with no flow: The pump may be partially seized. Lightly tapping the pump body (with the unit unplugged) can sometimes free it, but repeated failure indicates the need for a new solution pump assembly.
