Possible Causes
Brush bar jammed by debris, Worn brush bearings, Over-tight belt, Failing brush motor drawing excess current
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cleaner and remove tanks before turning it over.
- Clear brush bar: Remove hair, threads, and debris from the brush bar and end caps. Ensure the bar spins freely by hand.
- Check belt tension: Remove the brush cover and inspect the belt. If it is extremely tight or misaligned, replace it with the correct Russell Hobbs belt.
- Lubricate bearings (if accessible): Some brush bars have end bearings that can be lightly lubricated with a drop of light machine oil. Do not over-oil.
- If F3 recurs: The brush motor may be overheating or drawing too much current. Replacement of the brush drive motor is recommended.
