Possible Causes
Jammed brush roller, Worn or seized brush roller bearings, Faulty SEBO brush motor, Overheated motor thermal cut-out tripped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the SEBO carpet cleaner before working on the brush head.
- Check for jams: Turn the power head over. Remove any hair, string, or debris wrapped around the brush roller using scissors or a seam ripper. Ensure the brush roller spins freely by hand. If it is stiff or locked, remove the roller (usually by releasing end caps or a locking bar) and clean the bearings.
- Allow cooling time: If the brush stopped during use and LED 2 came on, the motor may have overheated. Leave the machine unplugged for at least 30 minutes to allow the thermal cut-out to reset, then test again.
- Inspect the brush roller: Check for melted end caps, worn bristles, or a bent roller. If the roller wobbles or the bearings grind, replace the complete SEBO brush roller.
- Test the brush motor: If the roller spins freely but the motor does not run and LED 2 persists, the brush motor may be open or shorted. Motor testing requires a multimeter and access to the motor terminals. If you are not experienced with electrical testing, have a technician diagnose and replace the SEBO brush motor.
Never force the brush roller to turn with tools; this can damage the motor gearbox. Replace worn parts rather than lubricating sealed bearings.
