Possible Causes

Clogged airflow path in hose or wand, Full or blocked SEBO filter bag, Clogged pre-motor filter, Failing suction motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before opening any covers.

  • Check the filter bag: Open the bag compartment and inspect the SEBO filter bag. If it is more than 2/3 full or packed hard, replace it with a genuine SEBO bag. Never reuse disposable bags.
  • Inspect filters: Remove the pre-motor filter and exhaust (microfilter or HEPA) filter. If they are heavily soiled, grey, or clogged with fine dust, replace them. Do not wash paper or HEPA filters unless SEBO explicitly states they are washable.
  • Clear blockages: Detach the hose and wand. Look through them against a light source. Use a broom handle or flexible rod to gently push out any clogs. Check the intake neck on the power head and the main air channel in the body for obstructions.
  • Allow motor to cool: If the suction stopped during use, the thermal protector may have tripped. Leave the machine unplugged for 30–45 minutes, then reassemble and test.
  • Motor diagnosis: If LED 3 remains on and the motor hums, smells burnt, or does not start even with clear airflow and new filters, the suction motor may be failing. Motor replacement involves opening the main housing and should be done by a qualified technician.

Operating with blocked airflow can permanently damage the suction motor. Always address blockages promptly.
