Possible Causes
Obstructed height adjustment mechanism, Broken height adjustment cam, Faulty height sensor or microswitch, Damaged control PCB in power head
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the SEBO carpet cleaner before inspecting the power head.
- Check for debris: Turn the power head over and inspect the front wheels and height adjustment area. Remove threads, hair, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheels or jammed in the adjustment track.
- Manually move the mechanism: With the unit unplugged, gently move the height adjustment knob or lever through its full range. If it feels stuck or gritty, there may be internal debris or a broken cam. Do not force it; forcing can snap plastic parts.
- Inspect wheels and axles: Ensure the front and rear wheels spin freely and are not worn flat. Replace worn wheels to restore correct height.
- Sensor and PCB: If the LED 4 persists and the head does not respond to height changes, the internal sensor or PCB may be faulty. Accessing these components requires opening the power head shell, which should be done by a technician to avoid damaging clips and seals.
If the machine is under warranty, do not disassemble the head yourself; contact an authorized SEBO service center.
