Possible Causes
Excessive resistance from worn carpet or thick pile, Worn brush roller bristles causing drag, Weak brush motor, Faulty load sensor on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before inspecting the brush head.
- Check brush roller condition: Inspect the bristles. If they are worn down, uneven, or very soft, the roller can drag on the carpet and overload the motor. Replace the SEBO brush roller if bristles are below the wear indicator line (if present).
- Test on different surfaces: Try the machine on a low-pile rug or hard floor (if permitted by the model). If the brush runs there but stops on thick carpet, reduce the height setting (raise the head) to reduce load.
- Clean bearings and end caps: Remove the brush roller and clean hair and fibers from the end caps and bearing areas. Ensure the roller spins freely by hand.
- Electronics: If the brush still stops under light load and LED 6 appears, the load sensor or PCB may be misreading current. This requires PCB diagnosis and likely replacement by a technician.
Do not continue to use the machine if the brush repeatedly stalls; this can overheat and damage the motor.
