Possible Causes
Worn brush roller bearings, Debris in brush housing, Failing suction motor bearings, Foreign object in fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before inspection.
- Isolate the source: Run the machine briefly (plugged in) and listen to determine if the noise comes from the power head or main body. Then unplug before proceeding.
- Inspect brush head: Remove the bottom plate and brush roller. Check for stones, screws, or hard objects inside the housing. Spin the brush roller by hand; if it grinds or feels rough, replace the SEBO brush roller.
- Check for fan obstruction: If the noise is from the main body, remove the hose and look into the intake. Use a flashlight to check for foreign objects near the fan. Do not insert metal tools into the fan area.
- Motor bearings: A high-pitched whine or rumble from the body often indicates worn motor bearings. The motor should be replaced by a technician; bearing replacement alone is not usually supported.
Continuing to use a noisy motor can lead to sudden failure and possible damage to other components.
