Contaminated Bag or Filters
Unpleasant musty or dusty odor from machine exhaust
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Overfilled SEBO filter bag, Old dust in bag compartment, Dirty pre-motor and exhaust filters, Mold growth from damp debris
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before servicing.
- Replace bag: Fit a new SEBO filter bag even if the old one is not completely full, especially if it has been in use for many months.
- Replace filters: Install new pre-motor and exhaust filters. Odors often cling to old filter media.
- Clean compartments: Wipe the bag compartment and filter housings with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Allow to dry completely before reassembly.
- Avoid vacuuming damp material: Do not pick up wet debris with a dry vacuum; this promotes mold and odors.
Regular bag and filter changes are the best prevention for odors and maintain filtration performance.
