Carpet cleaner has strong suction at the floor but no suction at the handheld hose/tool

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the hose.

• Check hose connection: Ensure the accessory hose is pushed fully into the port until it clicks. Some models require flipping a diverter lever to send suction to the hose.
• Clear hose blockage: Detach the hose and look through it. Use a flexible brush or blunt rod to push out any clogs.
• Clean tool head: Inspect the upholstery or stair tool for lint or pet hair blocking the opening. Rinse under warm water and let dry.
• Inspect hose for cracks: Flex the hose along its length while feeling for air leaks. Replace the hose if it is split or punctured.
