Possible Causes
Failed brushroll speed sensor, Damaged tachometer magnet on brushroll, Loose sensor wiring, Brush motor running out of spec
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cleaner before accessing the brushroll area.
- Clean brushroll and end caps: Remove the bottom nozzle cover and clear all debris from the brushroll and end caps so it can spin freely.
- Inspect tachometer magnet: Some Shark brushrolls have a small magnet or reflective marker used by the speed sensor. Ensure it is still attached and not covered in debris.
- Check sensor position: Locate the small sensor near the brushroll. Make sure it is not bent away or obstructed.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the harness and ensure connectors are secure.
- Test: Reassemble, plug in, and test. If E11 persists, replace the brushroll speed sensor or the entire brushroll assembly if the magnet is damaged.
