Possible Causes
Partially clogged solution filter, Weak solution pump, Air leaks at hose connections, Faulty flow control valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and remove the solution tank.
- Clean solution filter: Many Shark carpet cleaners have a small mesh filter at the tank outlet or in-line. Remove and rinse this filter under warm water to clear debris.
- Check hose connections: Inspect all visible solution hose joints for leaks or loose fittings. Tighten clamps or reseat push-fit connectors.
- Bleed air from system: Refill the tank, reinstall, then plug in. Hold the spray trigger continuously for 30–60 seconds to purge air from the lines.
- Inspect flow valve: If equipped with a flow control dial, rotate it through all positions several times to free any sticking. If the valve body is cracked or leaking, replace it.
