Possible Causes
Blocked air intake vents, Clogged brushroll area causing motor overload, Worn motor bearings, Faulty thermal cutout sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cleaner before inspecting brushes or internal parts.
- Allow full cool-down: Leave the unit unplugged for at least 30–45 minutes to allow the motor and thermal protector to reset.
- Clear air paths: Inspect all vents and louvers on the sides and bottom of the machine. Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove lint, pet hair, and dust that may restrict airflow.
- Check brushroll area: Turn the unit over and remove any hair, threads, or debris wrapped around the brushroll and end caps. A jammed brush can overload the motor and trigger E2.
- Inspect for heavy load: If you were pressing down hard on thick carpet, reduce pressure and let the machine glide. Overloading the motor repeatedly can cause permanent damage.
- Test run: After cleaning and cooling, plug in and run the unit on a small area. If E2 returns quickly, the motor or thermal sensor may be failing and should be replaced.
Persistent E2 errors after cleaning and cool-down usually indicate a failing motor assembly or thermal sensor that requires part replacement.
