Possible Causes
Broken or stretched brush belt, Debris jammed in brush roll, Worn brush bearings, Disengaged brush clutch (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and lay it on its back for access.
- Remove debris: Cut away hair, threads, and fibers wrapped around the brush roll and end caps.
- Inspect belt: Remove the belt cover and check the belt condition. Replace if cracked, stretched, or broken.
- Check brush bearings: Spin the brush roll by hand. If it feels rough or seized, replace the brush roll assembly.
- Verify clutch engagement: If your Siemens model has a brush on/off selector, ensure it is set to ON and the linkage is intact.
After replacing the belt or brush roll, reassemble and test on a small area of carpet.
