Possible Causes
Stuck float in recovery tank, Misaligned tank lid, Faulty float switch or reed sensor, Debris on optical level sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing tanks.
- Remove and clean the dirty water tank: Take out the recovery tank and empty it completely. Rinse with warm water to remove foam, hair, and debris.
- Check the float mechanism: Inside the tank or lid, locate the float (usually a plastic piece that moves up and down). Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the raised position. Clean any soap residue that may cause sticking.
- Inspect tank seating: Reinstall the tank, ensuring it is fully pushed into place and the lid is correctly latched. An improperly seated tank can keep the float sensor engaged.
- Check the sensor: If your Siemens model uses a reed switch or optical sensor, inspect the sensor window or housing for dirt or scale. Gently clean with a soft cloth. Verify the wiring harness is secure.
If the float sensor or reed switch is defective, it may need to be replaced as part of the dirty tank assembly or main harness. Contact Siemens service if cleaning and reseating do not resolve the issue.
