Siemens
Detergent Dosing System Fault
Detergent dosing error, incorrect mix ratio or no detergent being dispensed
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Blocked detergent inlet, Faulty detergent valve, Cracked detergent tank cap seal, Faulty dosing pump (if separate from main pump)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and empty the detergent tank before service.
- Check detergent concentration: Ensure you are using the correct Siemens-approved detergent and mixing ratio. Overly thick solutions can block the dosing system.
- Inspect the detergent tank and cap: Look for cracks or damaged seals that could prevent proper flow or cause air leaks. Replace the cap or tank if damaged.
- Clean the detergent inlet and valve: Remove the tank and inspect the inlet port on the machine. Rinse with warm water to remove dried detergent. If accessible, clean the detergent valve or small dosing pump.
- Test dosing function with water: Fill the detergent tank with warm water only and run a cleaning cycle. If water flows correctly, the issue was likely blockage or detergent viscosity. If not, the dosing valve or pump may be faulty.
Persistent dosing errors may require replacement of the detergent valve or dosing pump assembly by a technician.
