Possible Causes

Use of non-approved detergent, Overdosing detergent, Faulty foam sensor in dirty tank, Blocked anti-foam channel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening tanks.

  • Empty and rinse dirty tank: Remove the recovery tank and empty all contents. Rinse thoroughly to remove foam and detergent residue.
  • Use correct detergent: Only use Siemens-approved low-foam carpet detergent at the recommended dilution. Do not add household cleaners or dish soap.
  • Check foam sensor: If equipped, inspect the foam sensor or electrodes in the dirty tank area. Clean them gently with a damp cloth to remove residue.
  • Anti-foam agent: If recommended by Siemens, add a small amount of anti-foam solution to the dirty tank to reduce foaming.

After correcting detergent use and cleaning the tank, the foam warning should clear. If the sensor continues to trigger with no foam present, it may require replacement.
