Possible Causes
Stuck solution diverter valve, broken mode selector knob, failed diverter valve motor, misaligned valve position sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and empty the solution tank.
- Check mode selector: Inspect the external mode knob or switch for cracks or looseness. Ensure it fully engages each detent position.
- Access diverter valve: Remove the side cover to locate the solution diverter valve assembly in the fluid path. Manually move the valve (if possible) to confirm it is not jammed by debris.
- Clean valve body: Disconnect hoses and flush the valve with warm water to remove detergent buildup. Reinstall hoses securely.
- Inspect valve motor and sensor: For motorized valves, check the small motor and position sensor wiring. Reseat connectors and look for stripped gears.
If the valve motor does not move when changing modes (technician test), the diverter valve assembly should be replaced.
