Brush Bar Overload / High Friction
Brush bar spins intermittently or slows down significantly on carpet

Possible Causes
Worn or dry brush bearings, Excessive hair wrapped around ends, Weak or slipping belt, Low brush motor torque due to wear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before servicing the brush bar.
- Remove and clean brush bar: Take out the brush bar and thoroughly remove hair and fibres from the bristles and end caps.
- Lubricate or replace bearings: If the end caps contain bearings, check for smooth rotation. Lightly lubricate with a suitable light machine oil if serviceable, or replace the brush bar if bearings are sealed and rough.
- Replace belt: Even if not broken, a stretched belt can slip under load. Fit a new genuine Vax belt.
- Check carpet height: On models with height adjustment, raise the brush height slightly on very thick carpets to reduce load.
