Possible Causes

Mis-seated clean water tank, Stuck or faulty float in tank, Failed water level sensor or reed switch, Damaged wiring to level sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before removing tanks or covers.

  • Reseat clean water tank: Remove the clean water/solution tank and check the bottom valve and seals. Refit firmly until it locks into place. Ensure no plastic film or packaging remains on the tank base.
  • Check tank float: If the tank has an internal float, inspect it for free movement. Rinse the tank with warm water to free any detergent residue that may be sticking the float.
  • Clean sensor area: On models with an external sensor window, wipe the area on the base and the corresponding area on the tank to remove dirt or limescale.
  • Inspect wiring: If accessible, locate the level sensor (often a reed switch or small PCB near the tank base). Check for loose connectors or damaged wires. Reseat connectors.
  • Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor does not change state when the tank is removed/refitted (tested with a multimeter by a competent person), replace the water level sensor assembly.
