Carpet cleaner emits a burning smell or hot plastic odor during use.

Safety: Immediately switch off and unplug the unit. Allow it to cool before inspection.

• Check for brush jams: Remove the brush guard and clear any debris. Inspect the belt for signs of melting or glazing and replace if damaged.
• Clean filters: Remove and wash the motor pre-filter and any exhaust filters according to the manual. Let them dry completely before reinstalling.
• Inspect motor area: Look for signs of scorching or melted plastic near the motor or belt path. If present, discontinue use and replace the affected parts.
• Test briefly: After cleaning and reassembly, run the unit for a short period while monitoring for smell. If it persists, the motor may be failing and should be replaced.
