Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose motor fan causing imbalance, Damaged motor bearings, Faulty speed control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before opening.
- Inspect motor fan: Access the suction motor and check that the plastic fan is firmly attached to the shaft and not cracked. Replace the motor assembly if the fan is damaged or loose.
- Check for bearing noise: Spin the motor by hand. Roughness or grinding indicates worn bearings; replace the motor assembly.
- Inspect tachometer wiring: Some Vileda models use a small sensor or extra wires on the motor for speed feedback. Ensure the connector is secure and wires are not damaged.
- Replace control PCB if needed: If the motor and tach wiring are good but E09 persists, the speed control circuit on the PCB may be defective and the board should be replaced.
