Possible Causes
Stuck tilt sensor, Loose tilt switch mounting, Faulty mercury-free tilt switch, Broken wire in safety circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the housing.
- Locate tilt sensor: The tilt or tip-over sensor is usually mounted low in the body. It may look like a small cylinder or box with two wires.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and oriented correctly. Tighten any loose screws.
- Test sensor: Use a multimeter to check continuity while gently tilting the unit. The reading should change as the sensor moves. If it does not, replace the tilt sensor.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the wires from the sensor to the PCB, checking for pinched or broken conductors. Repair or replace as needed.
