Possible Causes
Defective main control board (PCB), Failed low-voltage power supply on PCB, Internal short in wiring harness, Blown internal thermal fuse on power input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the AEG coffee maker from the mains before opening any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Check outlet and cord: Verify the wall socket has power and the power cord is not damaged or warm. Try another outlet.
- Power reset: Unplug the machine for at least 10 minutes to discharge internal capacitors, then plug back in and try again.
- Inspect for visible damage: If accessible, remove the top or rear cover (per AEG service manual) and look for burnt spots, swollen capacitors, or melted connectors on the main PCB.
- Check internal fuse: Many AEG machines have an inline or board-mounted fuse near the power input. Test continuity with a multimeter. Replace only with the same rating if blown.
- When to stop: If the fuse blows again immediately or the PCB shows burn marks, stop troubleshooting and replace the main control board or contact an authorized AEG service center.
