Possible Causes

Failed ULKA vibration pump, Pump coil open or shorted, Blocked pump inlet due to scale or debris, Stuck pump check valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect from mains and allow the machine to cool.

  • Check water supply: Confirm the tank is full and properly seated. Replace any in-tank water filter that may be clogged.
  • Listen to the pump: When starting a cycle (before the error appears), listen for the characteristic buzzing of the ULKA pump. No sound suggests electrical failure; a loud, strained buzz suggests blockage.
  • Descale: Run a descaling cycle if possible. A partially blocked pump can sometimes be freed by thorough descaling.
  • Access the pump: Remove the side or rear panel to locate the pump. Check for leaks, loose connectors, or kinked hoses at the pump inlet and outlet.
  • Test the pump coil: With the machine unplugged, disconnect the pump and measure coil resistance. Compare to the ULKA specification (often 1–2 kΩ). Replace the pump if open or shorted.
