Possible Causes
Open heating element in steam thermoblock, Burnt heater connectors, Faulty steam temperature sensor, Scale buildup on steam circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug and allow the machine to cool fully before opening.
- Descale: Run a full descaling cycle focusing on the steam circuit if the machine allows. This can restore flow and reduce overheating.
- Check steam wand: Remove and clean the steam wand tip and internal channels with a fine needle and hot water.
- Inspect heater connections: Access the steam thermoblock and check that the heater terminals are tight and not burnt.
- Test heater: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Check steam NTC: Test the steam temperature sensor for correct resistance at room temperature and replace if out of specification.
