Possible Causes
Faulty water tank level sensor (reed switch or float), Demagnetized or missing float magnet in tank, Dirty or misaligned tank sensor area, Broken wiring to tank sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before internal inspection.
- Check tank seating: Remove and firmly reinsert the water tank. Ensure it clicks into place and the float inside moves freely.
- Clean sensor area: Wipe the area where the tank meets the machine with a damp cloth to remove coffee or scale residues that may interfere with the sensor.
- Test float magnet: In models using a magnetic float, verify that the float rises when the tank is filled. If it is stuck, clean the tank thoroughly or replace it.
- Inspect reed switch: Access the internal side of the tank area and locate the reed switch or optical sensor. Check for broken wires or loose connectors and repair as needed.
