Possible Causes
Water tank not seated correctly, Water level float stuck, Water level sensor failure on base, Wiring issue between sensor and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Ariete coffee maker before inspecting any internal parts. Allow the machine to cool completely.
- Check water tank seating: Remove the water tank, rinse and dry the bottom, then firmly reseat it. Make sure it clicks fully into place on the base contacts.
- Verify water level: Fill the tank at least halfway. Some Ariete models will show E01 if the float is below the minimum level.
- Free the float: Look for the plastic float inside the tank (often a small cylinder). Move it up and down with a plastic utensil to ensure it is not stuck by scale or debris. Rinse the tank with warm water and mild detergent, then flush thoroughly.
- Clean tank contacts: If your model uses metal contacts on the tank and base, gently clean them with a soft cloth slightly dampened with white vinegar, then wipe dry.
- Reset the unit: With the tank correctly installed and filled, plug the machine back in and power it on. Clear the error by turning the machine off and on or by holding the power button for 5–10 seconds (depending on model).
- If E01 persists: The internal water level sensor or wiring may be faulty. Do not open the housing unless you are qualified; contact an authorized Ariete service center for sensor or harness replacement.
