Possible Causes

Brew group jammed by coffee residues, Stripped gears in drive mechanism, Faulty microswitch or Hall sensor for brew group position, Motor failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before touching the brew group or internal mechanisms.

  • Remove and clean brew group (if removable): Open the service door, remove the brew group, and rinse it thoroughly under warm water. Use a soft brush to remove compacted coffee grounds. Let it dry and lightly lubricate moving joints with food-grade silicone grease.
  • Check for foreign objects: Inspect the brew chamber and drive area for loose coffee pucks, paper, or plastic pieces that could block movement.
  • Reinstall correctly: Reinsert the brew group following the arrows or guides until it clicks firmly into place. An incorrectly seated group can trigger E06.
  • Reset cycle: Plug the machine back in and power on. Allow it to complete its self-test. Do not interrupt the cycle.
  • If E06 remains: The drive motor, gears, or position sensor may be damaged. Internal disassembly is required; contact an Ariete service center.
