Possible Causes
Leaking hose or O-ring in hydraulic circuit, Cracked boiler or thermoblock, Loose pump outlet fitting, Activated base float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine immediately. Do not operate a coffee maker that has leaked internally.
- Remove external water: Wipe any visible water around and under the machine. Tilt slightly (if safe) to see if water drips from the base.
- Drying period: Leave the machine unplugged in a dry, ventilated area for 24–48 hours to allow the internal safety float to drop if the leak was minor or from condensation.
- Check tank and hoses: Inspect the water tank for cracks and ensure it is not leaking at the bottom valve.
- Test carefully: After drying, refill the tank and place the machine on a dry paper towel. Plug in and run a short water cycle while watching for new leaks.
- If E15 or leaks persist: There is an internal leak that must be located and repaired (O-rings, hoses, boiler). This requires opening the unit; contact an authorized Ariete technician.
