Possible Causes
Foreign object (stone, metal) in grinder, Misaligned or damaged burrs, Worn grinder bearings, Loose grinder mounting screws
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before working on the grinder.
- Stop using immediately: Do not continue grinding if you suspect a foreign object; this can destroy the burrs.
- Empty hopper: Remove all beans and inspect for stones or hard objects.
- Clean grinder: If your Ariete model allows, remove the upper burr and brush out the grinding chamber. Look for chipped or broken burr teeth.
- Test briefly: With the machine reassembled and a small amount of beans, run a short grind. If abnormal noise persists, stop.
- Seek service: Damaged burrs or bearings require replacement of the grinder assembly by a technician.
