Plastic or chemical taste in coffee, especially on a new Ariete coffee maker.

Safety first: Use only food-safe cleaning agents recommended for coffee machines.

• Initial flushing: Before first use, run at least 3–4 full tanks of plain water through the machine (brew and hot water functions) and discard the water.
• Clean removable parts: Wash the water tank, drip tray, portafilter, and any plastic accessories with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
• Use filtered water: Fill the tank with fresh, filtered water to improve taste.
• If taste persists after several days: Run a mild descaling or cleaning cycle and contact Ariete support if the issue does not resolve.
