Possible Causes
Worn steam valve seat or gasket, Scale buildup inside steam valve, Bent steam valve shaft, Loose valve packing nut
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Initial steps:
- Operate the valve: Open and close the steam knob several times to see if debris clears and dripping stops.
- Descale: Run descaling solution through the steam circuit per Ascaso instructions to dissolve minor scale.
Valve service (unplug and cool first):
- Access steam valve: Remove the side panel to reach the steam valve body.
- Tighten packing nut: Slightly tighten the nut around the valve stem to improve sealing, but do not overtighten.
- Disassemble valve: Remove the valve stem and inspect the tip and seat for wear or scale. Clean with descaler and a soft brush.
- Replace seals: Install a new steam valve gasket or complete valve assembly if the seat is pitted or worn.
