Possible Causes
Air pockets in heater tubing, Heavy mineral scale on heater, Low water level causing boiling at exposed surfaces, Loose internal components vibrating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before descaling or opening the base.
- Ensure proper fill: Always fill the reservoir above the minimum line before brewing.
- Descale thoroughly: Run one or more descaling cycles with vinegar solution to remove scale that causes noisy boiling.
- Bleed air: After descaling, run a full reservoir of plain water through the machine to purge air and residue.
- Check for loose parts (advanced): Remove the base and gently wiggle the heater and pump. Tighten any loose mounting screws or brackets that may be rattling.
Some gurgling is normal, but very loud or new noises after cleaning may indicate a failing heater or pump that should be inspected by a technician.
