Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool. The warming plate can remain hot for some time after use.
- Check plate surface: Confirm that the plate truly does not heat by carefully touching it after a brew cycle (use caution). If it remains cold, proceed.
- Inspect wiring (advanced): Remove the base cover and locate the two wires leading to the warming plate. Check for loose connectors or burnt wiring and repair or reconnect as needed.
- Visual check of thermostat: Look for a small disc thermostat attached to or near the warming plate. If it appears cracked or burnt, it should be replaced.
If the warming plate element is open (requires meter to confirm) or the control board relay is not energizing, replacement of the warming plate assembly or main board is required and should be done by a qualified technician.
