Water leaks around the top lid or from the filter basket area during brewing.

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before opening the lid fully.

• Reduce coffee amount: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum fill line in the filter basket.
• Use proper grind: Use a medium grind for drip coffee. Very fine espresso grind can block flow and cause overflow.
• Clean basket outlet: Remove the filter basket and thoroughly clean the outlet hole and any spring-loaded drip-stop valve. Coffee oils and fines can clog this area.
• Check paper filter placement: Make sure the paper filter is properly seated and not folded over the edge, which can divert water outside the basket.

If overflow continues despite correct loading and cleaning, the drip-stop valve or basket assembly may need replacement.
