Possible Causes
Too fine grind or too much coffee, Clogged filter basket holes, Drip-stop valve stuck closed, Carafe not seated properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the machine. Allow hot coffee to cool before cleaning up spills.
- Use correct grind and dose: Use a medium grind for drip coffee and do not exceed the recommended amount of coffee for the basket size.
- Clean filter basket: Remove the basket and wash thoroughly. Ensure all drain holes are clear.
- Check drip-stop valve: Inspect the spring-loaded valve at the bottom of the basket. Clean any coffee residue and ensure it moves freely.
- Seat carafe correctly: Make sure the carafe is fully pushed in so it opens the drip-stop valve during brewing.
If overflow continues with proper use, replace the filter basket and drip-stop valve assembly.
