Possible Causes

Scale buildup in boiler or thermoblock, Clogged internal filter or shower screen, Coffee grind too fine, Blocked outlet spout

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug and allow the machine to cool before disassembling any parts.

  • Descale thoroughly: Fill the tank with descaling solution and run multiple brew cycles, pausing between cycles to allow the solution to work. Follow Bialetti's descaling instructions.
  • Clean shower screen: Remove the brew head screen and gasket (if accessible) and soak in hot water with coffee cleaner. Scrub gently to clear all holes.
  • Adjust grind: Use a slightly coarser grind if you are grinding beans yourself. Overly fine coffee can choke the system.
  • Clean outlet spout: Use a small brush or toothpick to clear any dried coffee from the outlet spout or nozzle.

If flow remains restricted after descaling and cleaning, internal passages may be heavily scaled and require professional disassembly and cleaning or replacement of the boiler/thermoblock.
