Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool before opening any panels or hoses.
- Check water supply: Ensure the reservoir is full and properly seated. Verify the intake filter at the bottom of the tank is not clogged with debris or scale.
- Run a descaling cycle: Fill the tank with a manufacturer-approved descaling solution diluted per instructions. Start a descaling or hot water cycle if available. This can clear minor scale from the pump, flow meter, and internal tubing.
- Inspect for kinks or pinched hoses (advanced): Remove the top cover (usually a few screws) and visually inspect silicone hoses from the tank to the pump and from the pump to the boiler/thermoblock. Straighten any kinks and ensure clamps are tight but not crushing the hose.
- Listen to the pump: When you start a brew (with the machine reassembled and plugged in), listen for the vibration pump. A loud humming with no water flow suggests a blockage; no sound suggests a failed pump or power issue.
- Clean or replace the inlet filter: If the small mesh filter at the tank connection is heavily scaled, soak it in descaler and rinse. Replace if damaged.
If E02 remains after descaling and hose inspection, the vibration pump or flow meter may need replacement. This is a moderate to advanced repair and may be best handled by a service center.
