Possible Causes
Dreg drawer full or not seated, Brew group not completing cycle, Faulty dreg drawer microswitch, Jammed coffee puck chute
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before reaching into the dreg drawer area.
- Empty and clean the dreg drawer: Remove the used coffee container and wash it. Dry thoroughly and reinsert it fully until it clicks.
- Clean the puck chute: Inspect the path where used coffee falls into the drawer. Remove any compacted grounds with a brush or wooden stick.
- Check drawer seating: Ensure no foreign objects prevent the drawer from closing completely. The drawer must press a small switch to signal its presence.
- Reset the machine: After cleaning, power the machine back on and allow it to complete a startup cycle.
If E09 continues, the dreg drawer sensor or brew group drive may be malfunctioning and should be tested and possibly replaced.
