Possible Causes
Airlock in water line after reservoir ran dry, clogged inlet screen or one-way valve, scaled heating tube restricting flow, failed thermal sensor falsely detecting dry condition
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool before troubleshooting.
Clear possible airlock:
- Fill the reservoir completely with water.
- With the unit unplugged, gently tap the sides of the machine near the base to dislodge trapped air bubbles.
- Plug in and start a brew cycle; listen for the sound of water moving through the heater.
Clean inlet and valve:
- Remove the reservoir and inspect the inlet screen or mesh filter at the base. Rinse and brush away any debris.
- Check the one-way valve (often a small rubber or plastic valve at the reservoir outlet or in the inlet port). Ensure it moves freely and is not blocked by scale.
Descale the system:
- Run a vinegar and water descaling cycle (1:1 mix) to dissolve mineral buildup in the heating tube and hoses.
Sensor check:
- If the unit still reports NO WATER immediately, the temperature sensor or control board may be falsely detecting a dry heater.
- Inspect and test the NTC sensor and wiring as described for E1 faults.
When to replace:
- Replace a blocked or damaged one-way inlet valve or inlet screen if cleaning does not restore flow.
- If the sensor is faulty, replace the temperature sensor (NTC) or control PCB as needed.
