Possible Causes
Worn drip-stop valve seal, Coffee residue preventing full closure, Weak or broken drip-stop spring, Misaligned filter basket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the unit to cool before working near the hot plate.
Steps to try:
- Clean drip-stop: Remove the filter basket and locate the drip-stop valve at the bottom. Rinse under warm water while pressing the valve repeatedly to flush out residue.
- Check basket fit: Ensure the filter basket is fully seated and oriented correctly so the drip-stop aligns with the carafe lid actuator.
- Inspect seal and spring: Look for cracks in the rubber seal or a missing/broken spring. Replace the basket or valve assembly if damaged.
After cleaning, test by filling the basket with water and lifting the carafe away; only a few drops should escape.
