Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker immediately and do not operate it while leaking. Water near live electrical parts is dangerous.
Steps to try:
- Identify leak source: Dry the exterior, fill the tank with cold water, and place the unit on a dry paper towel. Observe where water appears without turning it on. If it leaks cold, the tank or valve is suspect.
- Check tank and valve: Remove the water tank (if removable) and inspect the outlet valve and O-ring. Replace the O-ring if it is cracked or flattened. Ensure the tank seats firmly.
- Internal inspection (advanced): With the unit unplugged and dry, remove the bottom cover. Look for water trails, mineral deposits, or corrosion around the boiler tube and hose connections.
- Tighten or replace hoses: Reseat any loose hoses and clamps. Replace cracked silicone hoses with high-temperature food-grade silicone tubing of the same diameter.
If the aluminum boiler tube itself is cracked or corroded through, it must be replaced; continued use is unsafe.
