Possible Causes
Stuck drain valve, Scale or coffee residues in valve, Defective drain valve motor, Broken valve linkage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before removing the brew unit or drip tray. Expect some residual water in internal hoses.
- Clean brew unit and interior: Remove the brew unit and drip tray. Clean all accessible areas, especially around the drainage channel where water exits the brew chamber.
- Run cleaning and descaling cycles: Use Bosch cleaning tablets for the brew unit and descaler for the hydraulic system. This can free partially stuck valves.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: With the brew unit removed, observe the drain valve area (usually beneath the brew chamber). Look for coffee pucks or debris blocking movement and remove carefully.
- Reset the machine: After cleaning, reinstall components, power on, and allow the machine to run its self-test. Listen for the valve motor cycling.
- If E07 persists: The drain/diverter valve assembly or its motor may need replacement. This requires internal access; professional service is advised.
