Possible Causes
Faulty reed switch or Hall sensor, Missing or weak magnet in water tank, Dirty tank contacts or float, Misaligned tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before inspecting internal sensors. Do not spill water into the electronics area.
- Reseat the water tank: Remove and firmly reinsert the tank, ensuring it is fully pushed in and level.
- Clean the tank and float: If your tank has a floating magnet or mechanical float, clean it with warm soapy water to ensure it moves freely. Rinse thoroughly.
- Check for magnet: On some Bosch tanks, a small magnet is embedded in the float. If it has fallen out or is missing, the sensor will not detect the tank; the tank may need replacement.
- Clean sensor area: Wipe the area where the tank meets the machine, especially around any visible sensor window or contacts.
- If E08 remains: The internal reed switch or Hall sensor on the main chassis may be defective. Replacement requires opening the housing; contact Bosch service.
