The CLEAN or DESCALE indicator lights up or flashes and may prevent brewing on some Braun models until reset.

Safety: Unplug the unit when filling or emptying the reservoir. Do not open the filter basket while brewing.

This is a maintenance alert, not a failure code.

• Perform descaling:
  • Fill the Braun water tank with descaling solution (Braun‑approved) or a 1:1 mix of white vinegar and water.
  • Start the CLEAN/DESCALE program if your model has one, or run a brew cycle and pause halfway for 20 minutes, then complete.
  • Repeat if the water was very cloudy or heavily scaled.
• Rinse thoroughly: Run 2–3 full tanks of fresh water through the machine to remove any descaler taste.
• Reset indicator: Follow the user manual (often holding the CLEAN button for several seconds) to clear the CLEAN light.

If the CLEAN light returns quickly after proper descaling, the flow sensor or control board may be misreading and require service.
