Possible Causes
Water tank not fully seated, Water level float sensor stuck, Reservoir level switch failure, Control board sensing circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before inspecting or moving parts. Never work on the unit while it is hot or connected to power.
This error usually indicates the machine does not detect the water tank correctly.
- Check reservoir seating: Remove the water tank completely, inspect the bottom for debris or scale, then firmly reseat it until it is fully engaged with the base contacts or valve.
- Verify water level: Fill the Braun water tank at least to the minimum mark. Some models will show E01 if the level is too low to brew.
- Free the float: On models with a visible float inside the reservoir, gently shake and rinse the tank with warm water to free a stuck float. Avoid using sharp tools that could puncture the float.
- Clean contacts/valve: If your Braun model uses electrical contacts or a spring‑loaded valve at the base of the tank, wipe them with a soft cloth slightly dampened with white vinegar to remove scale, then dry thoroughly.
- Power reset: With the tank removed, unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then reconnect power and reinstall the tank to reset the sensor circuit.
If E01 persists after these steps, the internal level sensor or control board may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
