Possible Causes
Clogged inlet filter, Scaled internal water lines, Flow meter obstruction or failure, Weak inlet pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before any work.
E02 typically indicates the machine is not sensing proper water flow.
- Check water tank outlet: Remove the Braun water tank and inspect the outlet valve for coffee grounds or mineral buildup. Rinse thoroughly and press the valve a few times under running water.
- Descale the machine:
- Fill the reservoir with a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water (or Braun‑approved descaling solution).
- Run a descaling cycle if your model has one, or start a brew cycle without coffee and stop halfway, letting the solution sit for 20 minutes, then complete the cycle.
- Run 2–3 full tanks of fresh water afterward to rinse.
- Clean inlet filter: Some Braun models have a small mesh filter at the reservoir inlet. Remove and rinse it under warm water to clear debris.
- Reset: After descaling and cleaning, unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug back in and test.
If E02 remains, the internal flow meter or pump may be defective and will require professional replacement.
