The FILTER or BRITA indicator appears on the display, reminding to change the water filter cartridge in the reservoir.

Safety: Unplug the coffee maker before removing the water reservoir.

This is a reminder to replace the internal water filter.

• Replace the filter:
  • Remove the Braun water tank and take out the BRITA or Braun water filter cartridge holder.
  • Install a new compatible filter cartridge, following the soaking and rinsing instructions on the package.
  • Reinsert the holder firmly into the reservoir.
• Reset the indicator: Press and hold the FILTER button (or follow your model's instructions) until the icon disappears.
• Optional without filter: If you choose not to use a filter, remove the holder and reset the indicator, but descale more frequently.
