Possible Causes

Scaled steam thermoblock, Failed steam temperature sensor, Blocked steam wand or tip, Failed steam thermostat

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool fully. Open the steam valve only after pressure has dropped.

User actions:

  • Clean steam wand: Remove the steam tip and soak it in hot water with milk cleaner. Use a pin to clear each hole.
  • Purge steam: After reassembly, run steam for 20–30 seconds to clear condensation and any residual blockage.
  • Descale: Run a descale cycle focusing on the steam circuit if your model supports it.

Advanced checks:

  • Open the case to access the steam thermoblock and its NTC sensor or thermostat.
  • Check wiring and connectors to the steam sensor for heat damage or loose connections.
  • Test the steam thermostat/thermal fuse for continuity. Replace if open.

Resolution: If cleaning and descaling do not clear ER06, replace the steam thermoblock temperature sensor or thermostat. If the thermoblock itself is heavily scaled or leaking, replace the entire steam thermoblock assembly.
